STUDENT FINANCE: WHERE DO I GO FOR INFO?
Going to uni is a huge step and there is so much to think about. One of those things is how you are going to pay for your living expenses while you're there.
During Vocations Week (w/c 28th January 2019) you will be invited to attend a Student Finance talk - don't miss it! It will be packed with everything you need to know about how to apply, how much you get and how to spend it!
In the meantime, the Student Finance Wales website is great, and has information for both students and parents.
For our students heading off to university in September 2019, this page is probably the best place to start. It covers tuition fee loans, living cost help, bursaries, and loads more.
Alternatively, head to the Student Finance Wales YouTube page for loads of helpful videos.
Here is a quick rundown of what you might be entitled to:
Money should not be a barrier to university
Every new full-time student can receive up to £9,000 (more if you live in London) towards their living costs through a mixture of grants and loans.
The package applies to part-time and full-time students
It is a fair package which means that students from the lowest income households will receive the most grants
